What We Are
The Brooklyn Silent Film Festival is a one-night live experience pairing new short silent films from around the world with musicians who compose and perform original scores — live, alongside the films, in front of a packed Brooklyn crowd.
No multi-day passes. No velvet ropes. One room, eight films, eight bands, a competition, and a party. Running annually since 2019 — where underground film culture meets the Brooklyn music scene.
How It Works
Submit a silent film
10–20 minute short films, no dialogue required. Global submissions accepted annually via FilmFreeway. All genres welcome.
Get paired with a musician
Selected films are matched with musicians from the Brooklyn scene who compose an original score from scratch.
Compete at the festival
On the night, a panel of judges from the film and music industries awards the winning film and score collaboration.
